Dear Theresa...

My wife and I are very poor indeed. We can barely afford to feed ourselves at the moment. I was self-employed but can’t work because of a serious accident I suffered at work. My wife can’t work either as she’s heavily pregnant and due to give birth any day now. We’re practically starving ourselves and we’re dreading having another mouth to feed. What should we do?

Theresa says...

You should eat your baby when it’s born. That way you will no longer have another mouth to feed and you and your wife will have food for a few extra days.

Dear Theresa...

Last week I was driving home at night. I was almost home when I ran over what I thought was a badger. I checked the damage in the morning and apart from a broken fog light, and some blood and scratches on the bumper, it didn’t seem too bad and so I though nothing else of it. Later in the day, after speaking to my neighbours however, I realised it was their dog that I ran over. The dog was like a member of their family and they are totally distraught. How do I handle this situation?

Theresa says...

Look on eBay for a replacement fog light and some touch-up paint (you can usually find the correct colour code on a specification plate in the offside door frame). When the fog light arrives, assess whether you can replace it yourself (you can always find a video on YouTube). If it’s going to be too challenging, take it to a professional. You should be able to wash off the blood and touch up the paint without too much trouble.
